Proceed with Caution when Mashing
It's probably my own fault, but this product scratched the non stick coating off my brand new pot. I guess I was mashing with too much enthusiasm. Also i found that this style masher tends to bend and not hold it's shape over time. Overall I'm happy with my purchase. Just go easy on those spuds.

It looks nice but every time I try to use it
This item is perplexing to me. It looks nice but every time I try to use it ... its is awkward to use and seems to bend. Don't think I like it.

Easy perfect potatoes every time!
This is very easy to use and the potatoes turned out perfectly!A word of caution: I didn't think about it and used it in my Teflon pan. Don't do that.

Back to old school mashing
As a culinary professional, I am always looking for cool kitchen tools gadgets and toys so I was excited when I was given the opportunity to purchase this potato masher at a discounted price to test for quality and review, I was happy to do so. I remember when I was little, watching my grandmother use a wire potato masher to make her potatoes. Over time, I evolved to the electric mixer but after attending culinary school, was brought back to my roots of using a masher.This is a very sturdy masher with nice holes for mashing and smashing. It is well constructed. I twisted the base near the handle with some force and there was no creaking or cracking. I have used it to mash potatoes, bananas for baking, and eggs for egg salad. All turned out perfectly. The masher has a hold at the end of the handle which allows it to be hung on the wall for storage if desired. Overall, I am very pleased to have this masher in my tool repertoire. I own several items from Elite Chef and have not been disappointed by any of them.
