Great fun for me and my kid!
We have quite a musical house and we have lots of instruments that my young daughter loves to play around with. She recently saw an accordian played while we were out and asked what it was. I have been looking for one since that I could get, just to see her face as I play it badly. This was a great size for her as a full size one would be pretty big and heavy for her and I did not want to spend a lot of money either. To be honest I was not expecting much from it being more than a colourful toy for her, but I actually found myself playing it more and more. I don't know that much about accordians or even how to play one before it arrived but the instructions explain how to play it and once you start making noise you can work it all out from there. It is pretty well made so I wouldn't worry about my daughter breaking it or hurting herself on it as its not too heavy either. The size of it is tiny but I actually like it small as its comfortable to play and travel with it. I would say that my daughter is probably a little too young at 2 and a half to play it on her own at the moment as it requires some force to open and close the accordian as you are pumping air in each direction, but that is ok as we often play it together, I will open and close it and she will press the buttons to play notes. Its a fun toy/instrument to get out if I run out of distractions on a daddy daughter day.

Great fun out of the box and potential for learning to play.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. The accordion is a Christmas present for a 3 year, so I've not road tested on an actual kid. The size and weight are good for small folks. The box suggests it would be good for teenagers and seniors, but I doubt whether a teenager would find it cool and the elderly might find it a bit fiddly. Also the strap is a bit small for adult hands as you'll see in the video. Personally, I'd market it at primary aged children.Looking at it from a small child's point of view it produces a pleasingly tuneful, though very loud sound. It also will play chords. So my 3 year old will find this satisfying after progressing from the current favourite chime bars. There's a lot of coordination involved to play it to its full potential ie both hands fingering, and pushing/pulling the bellows. This is actually a good thing as there are musical and coordination skills to develop. There's a handy and clear instruction booklet with tune ideas. And it does sensibly suggest just starting with the right hand (treble).I've attached a little video to show its sound quality, though clearly I need practice! All in all the accordion is very good value for money and interest should last as the child develops.

Well in tune, but leaks a bit of air!
Good: Definitely tuned well, had a very informational and fun booklet with a few songs for kids to learn and get a feel for the instrument. Lightweight and easy to hold and use.Bad: Noticeably leaks far too much air; The bellows appear to be loose somewhere on the right side, just between where the bellows and buttons meet. This causes a very weak overall sound, due to not enough air getting through the bellows.

Bellows are stiff to start with but will loosen up with use.
It arrived a day early fantastic. It has instructions all the buttons make a sound. My only issue with it the bellows to start are very stiff so if handing it to a child if it was me I would open and close them a few times to loosen them up. My arm muscles are getting a lot of exercise they were not expecting. Otherwise it's great.

Got for kid, use myself!
I got this for my daughter to get her more into music. I found I was using it myself though. It has a satisfying sound and is easy to use. A bit stiff first, but it loosens out. It is study and should last. I have had great fun out of it. I have small hands and it is fine for me. Happy to recommend.

Bellows are a bit tight!
But otherwise it's fun and does what it says on the tin. Had to spend a couple of weeks loosening it up but then got into it. Makes a clear sound and is a lot of fun. If you want to get children an introduction into this instrument this is definitely a good choice.
