Nice features, stays dry, complete system, holds weight, happy customer
The media could not be loaded. Pros: easy to setup, complete system with tarp/net/straps, can be used as a small tent, can be inverted and used with no net (not removable), thick material, self supporting net poles to keep net out of faceCons: big package (bc of poles and tarp, understandable), tarp won't keep the water off completely (but u stay dry), the tarp ends tend to flap around a lot near the straps and carabiners, very small when used as tentFirst off, I have another hammock with bug net, the kind that requires string. That part itself annoyed me, and I could never get the 2 lines further apart than the width of the tree unless I used more rope tying out perpendicular. So I went to Amazon looking for an alternative with some sort of net spreader bar.Enter, this product. It is thicker than my other poly "parachute" type hammocks, almost double, which was a nice surprise. It helped retain a little more heat from convetion issues that come with all hammocks. Furthermore, it almost seemed like a coated or TPU-type material.. almost rubbery, but fabric. I used this in the rain and while the fly kept me dry from above, I did have a significant amount of droplets getting on the bottom. To my surprise, I did not get wet inside the hammock. This would not have been the case in my other hammocks. This made me feel more comfortable not using a ground tarp when setting up as a tent. I appreciated the hooks inside for hanging a headlamp or light, and the poles made it feel very roomy. I still got a little "taco" effect, but less so than other hammocks due to the net poles helping spread it out.I would not recommend using this in the rain if you typically use an underquilt unless you bring a spare tarp, which defeats the purpose of having the rainfly. I usually put an inflatable pad in and use in warmer months so its not really an issue for me. The tarp can be tied to the end of the hammock where its attached to the straps, and is secured to the poles, but the ends that seem to come together are actually loose and flap in the wind which was a little annoying. Probably easy to stop, but may be by design. The slightly curved poles did keep the netting up which is why I bought this, and did a good job. You will bake like a potato if you use the tarp in the sun on a summer day, and you won't fit 2 people in. Me and my dog, however, were comfy and at nearly 250lbs it held us fine, no falling out the bottom and no ripped seams or tears. If you dont want the netting you can lay in it inverted. As other reviewers mentioned, it has a tendency to invert itself because it is top heavy. Putting a little weight in it helped a lot, and with the elastic shock cord provided tied to it, it was not a problem at all. Once you're in it, it is super stable feeling. As a tent, its decent. Its the size of a small, 1 person backpackers bivy/tent, with the net less than a foot from your face... you won't be able to sit up,, just crawl in/out and turn. I didn't buy this to be a tent though, so I dont mind and I like that I can use it either way if I ever find myself in an area with few trees and needing shelter. The ends are gathered, and can be let out to make the whole thing one big rectangle, but you then loose the ability to use the poles as designed. As a tent, you have to really tension the hammock out as if it were hung, which was easy with the 2 stakes. The way the pole pockets are designed make them stay taught with tension, and you dont need to stake the poles or tie them out or anything.I purchased this because of the net poles and because it came with straps and a rainfly that is easier than setting up a tarp. I was worried about getting wet from the bottom, but that did not happen. The tent feature is a small bonus, and unless I update otherwise, I'm happy with it!

Great, well worth twice the price.
The hammock was very comfortable. As long it is level. I cannot stress leveling the hammock. I makes all the difference.

Still a good purchase
Easy set up. Have used for 3 week long camping trips 1 spring, 1 summer, and 1 in winter (25f at night). The bottom is thin. So I have modified it with a woven cloth hammock that hangs under it to take some weight and add a bit of insulation. Awesome purchase - worth it.

It's different, but average.
This is the first hammock I've owned and slept in. I'm 6' 1", ~250lbs. Used ~12 times. Rained ~3 times.Pros:>The attached rainfly works at keeping the rain out.>The poles make it feel roomy.>The bug net does a good job keeping misquitos out.>I'm big and I fit.Cons:>The door side of the rainfly attaches to the poles but the opposite side is secured with buckles. This causes the buckle side to curl up slightly, and horizontal moving rain might get in.>The rainfly door has ties at the top to hold it open, but they are positioned at the very ends. It easily falls out when getting in or out, making them useless. Placing them one inch in would solve the problem.>While the poles do work I feel the same effect could be accomplised with guide lines holding the misquito net up and the hammock apart.Other thoughts:>With the rainfly on I get a bit of claustrophobia.>If you are prone to motion sickness the rocking will be uncomfortable. However with the rain fly removed this feeling went away. All of the things I dislike about this hammock revolve around the rainfly. A lot of the unpleasent experiences I had would be solved if it was seperate. I will be keeping this for relaxing mid day, and nights that it will not rain.

Had it for a year now
I love this thing! Have used it in a storm once and slept like a baby. It’s unfortunate that it broke on some people as seen in some reviews, but I haven’t had any problems with leaks or breaks. If it ever got to that point I would probably buy this again.

Lousy compromise
I was very intrigued by the versatility of this CONCEPT. In theory, it would be nice to pack light and have the option of hammock camping when you have trees, or tent camping when there are no trees. However, in reality, this hammock/tent combo is an exceedingly poor compromise. The main body of the hammock is also the tent floor. The fabric has some level of waterproofing to keep ground moisture out when in tent mode. This however, makes the fabric feel unbreatheable to the skin when in hammock mode… like laying in a trash bag. The center of the tent and rain fly also do not have enough support to keep from sagging and performing poorly in an actual rain. Essentially, this is a hammock that’s somewhat lousy because it’s also a tent, and a cramped tent that is guaranteed to give you a miserable night in even the most ideal conditions… because it’s also a hammock. My advise: If you’re a serious adult outdoorsman, get yourself a good hammock, and a good tent, and choose accordingly. If you’re a kid, light, and don’t need as much comfort, this could be a nice toy/survival shelter to play with. Personally, I returned mine. It had rips in one of the ties, I didn’t expect the fabric to hold my 250 lb self by a few months in, and it was clear you’re better off in either a hammock, or a tent, but not both in one.

Great summer hammock. Not so much winter.
Okay I've now bought two of these hammocks. They are amazing for summer camping. The issue I have is that the spreader bars make accommodating an underquilt incredibly awkward. The company that designed this hammock needs to make a dedicated underquilt or you can pretty well forget about comfort if you're attempting to winter camp with this hammock. That's my only gripe. They'll take a sleeping bag or overquilt and even a camp mat with very minor issue and still get a great night of sleep but until it warms up I'll stick to my hammock, underquilt, bug net, rainfly setup.
