I've recently crossed the threshold into my 30's and found myself battling adult acne and giant pores. The acne was't terrible and the pores probably weren't as noticeable as I thought but for someone who had always been complemented for having such good skin it was a big deal. I decided I needed to get serious about my face regimen and stumbled upon this charcoal soap. It did the trick! I've got my beautiful skin back after about a week just from washing my face with this bar once a day! I truly can't think of any cons to list for this soap but the pros list is quite impressive: beautiful skin, a fantastic smell to the soap, and awsome customer support which includes an email from the company after purchase describing how to make your bar last since it is a natural product and has some special storage requirements. I know for sure I'll be a lifelong customer!Tips: Since I'm only using the bar on my face I cut it into 4 pieces (super easy to do with a sharp knife on the cutting board), put 3 pieces back in the box it came in, and store the 1 I'm using on a soap saver on the bathroom counter in between uses. You HAVE to let this soap dry out in between uses or it will become a goopy mess. Also, when I wash my face instead of lathering the bar in my hands and saturating the whole bar in water I wet my face and then just rub the bar on it. The bar obviously still gets wet but not as much as if you were rubbing it in your wet hands enough to get a lather. When you see the black residue forming on your face from the charcoal you know you have enough so then put your bar back on your soap saver and lather your face with your hands. So far with this method this bar is lasting forever!

When I first unboxed this, I cut this bar in half (I don't like it when bar soap gets mushy) and used this to wash my face since my face gets extremely oily. I saw such an improvement in less than a week; more so than with high-end and all-natural cosmetics I have been exploring with since a teenager, that I decided to try the other half as body wash. I started to develop little bumps on the back of my shoulders and lower back; I guess it is acne but they don't have white or blackheads like pimples on my face... Idk what they're officially called, anyway, this soap helped minimize those breakouts too! I still alternate with my usual body wash (dove moisturizing body wash for sensitive skin: the only product before this, that has helped me) because after two or three days of using this strictly as a body wash as well, my skin was becoming visibly dry and I could feel the creeping dryness-itch coming. So now I alternate as much as every-other-day to as little as twice a week. Anyway, that is still such HUGE progress for me because I have seen many dermatologists and no prescription, expensive Korean products, DIY remedies, etc., has ever consistently and effortlessly improved my face and body's complexion as well as this has (I still use this as a facial cleanser at least twice a day).

Saw this soap on an article featured on buzzfeed or another similar site via Facebook. I LOVE this soap now and look forward to re-buying this and trying other versions. At first I was thrown a little off by the the soap sudsing into black, seeing it fly all over my white shower was concerning (and also highlighted just how far soap gets flung over all surfaces in the shower...). However, I very quickly got over the visual when I realized how amazing it smells and how effective it is. I go to the gym daily, and often had minor cases of breakouts on my back and chest from sweat staying there, this soap has helped clear anything up and keep it clear.lastly, you can't argue with supporting a small business! They reached out a few days after receiving and had some GREAT tips for the soap, which just was going above and beyond what I expected. Specifically, cut your bar of soap in half to help increase the longevity and use a loofah to help increase the lather and also minimize the amount of black soap you get all over your shower surfaces.

I love this soap! Wish I would have found it years ago. I’ve suffered with acne since my teens. I turned 50 this year so it’s been a long time of dealing with break outs. I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to look in the mirror and find zero blemishes on my face for over a week now. Usually I’m lucky if I can get 2-3 days a month with clear skin. My husband even noticed the difference. For reference, I have sensitive fair skin that is oily. This has decreased the oil and isn’t irritating at all. I will be ordering more. Thank you for this soap.

I really wanted this to work after reading all the reviews, but unfortunately it didn't. I think if you have acne due to oily skin this product should work well for you but I have cystic acne along with adult onset acne. Hope it works for you

I never leave reviews but, i would be doing a disservice not to. I love this soap. Love. I have struggled with my skin since I was a teenager. Varying forms of acne, way too oily. I had been using the same skin care line for years because it was basically what made me break out the least. But I haven't been truly happy with my skin in years and years. I have been using this soap for about 2 weeks and I cannot believe how amazing my skin feels. I can't stop touching my face because of how soft and silky it has become. I haven't had any new breakouts, which is truly saying something for me. The oil is under control for the first time ever. And most wonderful of all is I have been going makeup free every day because I now like the look of my skin better without it. I am so happy that I stumbled upon this soap in my search for a new product for my skin. All I can say is thank you, Yellow Bird!!
