I initially bought this in hopes of using it for both pink and blue buttercream frosting.The day it arrived we played around with it, mixing it into water and adding different types and concentrations of acids. The kids had a blast with that one. We also tried mixing it into a small cup of almond milk. Then we learned adding lemon juice to almond milk does terrible terrible things 😂 and also DO NOT drink it. It didn't taste that bad, but it looked weird and left my stomach unsettled.From our experiments, we realized that getting a true "pink" would require far more acid than could realistically be added to buttercream frosting.It did, however, make a really nice purple. For the blue on this cake I used blue spirulina powder, because the shade of it better matched our decorations. But the kids were impressed and the cake was tasty, if a little melty.

Made for a few really cool experiments, while locked down. First off, I acknowledge the price seems kinda steep. However, at the time of my purchase, this was the cheapest butterfly pea powder available, and I maximized savings by using the subsribe and save. Also, you only need a tsp at a time, I’m talking for a pitcher worth of liquid, so the bag should last awhile.Taste: it doesn’t add much in the way of taste. However, I think the health benefits can easily make up for that. Plus, you’re adding it to things like sweetened milk or lemonade, so you can dr it to your preference.Cool factor: five star. The first thing we tested it in was tea and we had to use a lot of lemon juice to get it to change color. Just be warned that in a drink such as tea, you’ll need lots of lemon or whatever citrus you’re adding. It was amazing and BEAUTIFUL mixed into milk and lemonade.My kids and I have made four different pitchers of tea and lemonade, and four different cups of milk which we got from the recipe listed above. All were neat and captured my kids attention for quite awhile, and nothing holds their attention. Well worth it, in my opinion.

I’ve used this a few times now with my son & niece, & even for myself in cocktails! Besides that I’ve used this in lemonade & vanilla ice cream I made. Will definitely use this lots! Fun natural color with no taste. Can clump though so I definitely recommend mixing the powder with just a little of the liquid you’re using to prevent that.

Wonderful product and so much fun to play with in the kitchen (teas, baked goods, lattes, lemonades mixers). The powder comes much grayer than in the actual packaging shows, but it still turns a lovely, intense blue in alkaline liquids and pink and acidic. The flavor is deep, very earthy and with a slight woody overtone. Pairs well with stronger tadting beverages such as lemonade, and overpowers softer beverages (such as adding it to other teas). Has a nice, gentle calming effect. Good value!

I added Blue butterfly pea powder, stevia and marine Collagen to my oatmeal this morning. Flavor is mild to nothing. I like it! When I 1st opened the bag, I took a whiff, and got a slight tea earthiness (makes sense). I was trying to find something healthy and anti-oxidant to add to my oatmeal. It might actually help me finish the marine collagen powder! I think I might try adding it to other things too. I see why baking cupcakes and muffins work. But I’m trying to eat better to reduce stress on my body during this COVID crisis. It’s 11-30-20: I’m still using a teaspoon every day and I still think it tastes good! It’s adds a slightly earthy taste (very subtle) in my B vitamin drink.

Really love this! I have the regular dried butterfly pea flowers as well but this allows you to add the powder to endless possibilities of foods and drinks instead of steeping the flowers in liquid! Not too much of a taste which is nice and the initial blue color is beautiful! Adding the lemon changes it to a vibrant purple, overall a very fun additive to drinks and food AND it’s good for you!

This was exactly as described. We made passion fruit smoothies and the powder turned purple do to the acidity. We made milkshakes with frozen coconut milk and the powder turned a beautiful blue. Very fun to use! Will buy again.
