I bought this for my kid as a gift. The “pastels” are just crayons without points. The paint is cheap, the color barely shows up. I should have looked more closely, this is a waste of money. The box is the best thing about it. I got rid of the stuff it came with and use the box for the better supplies I bought.

Nice collection of drawing/painting media, Very easy to carry/store/bring along.Such a shame that the case is completely covered with product-description papers, held on with impermeable, unscrapeable, non-soluable glue (not a Dot, but quite a Lot of it). The remains of the glue-nastiness are there forever, marring what Was a pretty wooden case before the bean-counter marketing slob was allowed to touch it.as always: What Were they Thinking? (oh, yeah.. Marketing.. nm then)Hope this helps, gift-wise.

Good set bought on lightning deal so good price. Paper is glued on cover and messes up case, mine was glued only on corners. The eraser is soft I can mush it so didnt work well for my 4 year old. Quality is what u would expect out of most of these sets nothing fancy but works well for my 4year old.

Bought for Christmas gift for my 6.5yr old girl who takes art lessons. This gives her, her own set for art lessons.Has pastels, watercolor paints, nice pencils & sharpener and 2 nice sketch pencils. Nice set with latches. Great price! I price checked around and this was the best deal. My 4.5yr old would be a bit young for the size of kit.

This set is smaller and lighter weight than anticipated. Not very high quality. Good for kids but not sure it'll last long.

My daughter loves it. She's creating art like every day. I took 1 star off because the adhesive that holds the item description and contents on the front lid wouldn't come off cleanly.

The recipient was happy with the gift.

This is a really nice set for a beginning artist. Just need to add watercolor, and sketch paper, a cup to hold water, and an easel and maybe a palette, and you're all set.
