Prefer my good old colander
I bought this item thinking that it would be ideal for not having to dump food into the colander and then back into the pot (which I always end up making more of a mess than I should!). While the idea is nice, I wish it had different handles. It is all just one piece of metal and the edges are a bit sharp.. if it had better handles/grips it would probably be easier to use on all different size pots.... but I find that it's just too awkward. We have 1 pot that it will work with without too much hassle, but I pretty much go back to my colander when using the rest of my pots. Wish it was more of a one size fits all!

Best strainer on the market. Definitely worth the extra $$$.
The is the most well made, well dedigned, and ergonomic strainer I've ever owned. I bought it to replace an old plastic strainer that had started to crumble (PVC?). Stainless is much healthier and the thickness of the metal used in this strainer makes it stiff while being lightweight. It also has a full lip that hugs the pan to prevent escapees. Looks like it may last forever.

Know the Intended Purpose.
A great little item for Pots. I bought it thinking "Finally, I can pour grease off Hamburger." The problem is that this is too small for a 12" fry pan so no luck for me..now if I want to drain spaghetti, it's a winner. I like the two hand operation. I just need one that is a bit wider to do what I wanted when I bought this item.

Not as easy to use as I'd hoped.
the primary complaint with this strainer is that it doesnt "snap onto a pot. This makes it somewhat difficult to tip the pot adn keep the strainer in place at the same time. Ive found myself having to brace the pot and strainer against the inside of my sink to make everything work correctly, and not lose my food, or burn myself with scalding hot water.It has holes in it and you can use the way it shows, its just not the most convient thing out there. If I had to buy something again, I'd probably go with a traditional bowl style collander.

Does the job
This does the job but you have to be firm with your thumbs to hold this against the pot and be sure there is absolutely NO gap between the pot and the strainer at the bottom because items will fall out. In my case elbow macaroni. I am sure it would be great with bigger items.

Best Product
This is one of the best purchases I have made. This works so well with any product that you need to strain...whether it is fruit or vegetables.or saving a juice for a gravy...awesome. I would highly recommend!!

Love this! My mother had something like this that was plastic when I was growing up the was pretty awkward to use. This has two handles (one on each side) that makes it so much easier to use! So glad I found this! I highly recommend this!

Works!!!
As long as your pan isn't too heavy you can use this with ease. If your pan is too heavy it can be a little awkward. I like it though because it is easy to rinse and dry vs. dirtying and cleaning a full strainer.
