I recently purchased a high dollar turntable and phono preamp … I bought this record weight mostly because I see pictures of audiophiles using similar weights….it seems to be well made ..no problems with fit or quality..the level on top is nice ..seems well made…does it make a difference in the tracking or sound quality…l don’t know… but, it looks cool

I really like the inclusion of the level in the center. It's a simple product and seems to have been made with quality in mind. I really like it overall. My only gripe is that it is too tall to be used with the lid closed on my '1 by One' record player - no biggie, I just prop the lid up a bit when in use. I have no regrets in this purchase. 5 stars all day.

This stabilizer is hefty and has a smooth, quality finish. If you’re just looking for a weight in this price range, this is a solid buy. It is tall but it fits under my Technics dust cover. The strobe markings are somewhat usable and don’t detract from the appearance. It’s nice to have them as a backup for checking speed, but having text in line with the markings makes it a little tough to observe them.If you’re looking for a level, as I was, you’ll probably want to pass or be prepared to return/modify this one. On mine, there’s a molding defect that prevents the bubble from centering. Rather than return (since several others reported the same problem) I drilled a small hole, poured out the fluid and pried the level out (it’s held in with an adhesive pad). I ordered a 3-pack of 32x7mm bullseye levels for a few bucks to replace it.Overall it’s not too bad since the level is standard-sized if you need to replace it and the price is low. It’s also heavier than most of the competition at this price point.

Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference in the sound with or without the weight, I could hear the record slow down when I put it on, then come back up to speed quickly. I don't know if that's a testament to the weight or the speed control of my turntable. But, it does look cool.The weight has a nice uniform black finish and the bubble level works. Bubble accuracy was estimated with a 4 ft construction level which makes it close enough for construction work. With the weight installed the dust cover cannot be lowered all the way. The cover is about 1-3/8 inches deep.Weight calculated out to be 9.87 oz. Timing scale showed some difference between 33.3 and 45 rpm, but it's too small to verify speed on my turntable and under my lighting conditions.There is a cheaper item, by about $4.00, with 50 Hz timing that's better looking in bare aluminium.( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZS5M5L8?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details .)I may purchase that one again even though it's labeled 50 Hz timing. Doesn't make a difference if the timing cannot be read.Didn't know playing records was like owning a nice older car, can't resist the nice accessories with questionable utility, LOL.
