First you should understand that a "cooling pillow" is not magic. If you are in a hot room the pillow is going to be warm. If you are in a cool room the pillow will be cool. Again once your head is resting on a pillow no matter what it is made of it will slowly warm up, now when you move it it will be cool in a new area.Second, memory foam pillows, no matter what others say will have a distinct chemical odor. This pillow did have less odor than others I have used.Third yes it is firm, but that is actually a good thing, as it is supportive. It helps to keep your neck in the proper position. Yes your neck will be sore the first week or so, but as your neck gets used to the pillow and being in the proper alignment it will improve. I also see a chiropractor, so between adjustments and this pillow keeping the adjustments aligned I do feel much better.There is no such thing as a magic pillow, just as there is no magic pill to make all of your aches and pains disappear. Soft pillows are not usually the best for the support of your head and neck, so there is no problem with this one being firm.Before reviewing an item one must know that there is no solution that will be instant fix of all of your problems. This pillow has lived up to the promises made by the company. It is ergonomically shaped, I personally like the lower loft side. It smells a lot less chemically strong than others. It supports my neck and keeps it in alignment. I sleep much better without tossing and turning all night. I rarely change my position with the use of this pillow.

UPDATE: I’ve had this pillow for less than a year and it’s lost it’s coolness. Not completely, but mostly. I was going to buy another thinking I’d had it much longer but when I looked at my account it’s only been 9 months. Now I’m not so sure. It’s unfortunate because I really liked this pillow when I first got it. The search for a good pillow continues.It took a little time to break it in, but this pillow is exactly what I was looking for. I tend to get really hot at night and this cooling pillow really does it’s job. The only thing I don’t like about it is the texture of the top of the pillow. I put a pillow case on it but that does diminish the coolness a little. When I first got the pillow, it didn’t smell like chemicals like some cooling pillows do. It’s a VERY firm pillow so if you don’t like that, this isn’t for you. It does give a little but not much which is what I like. It keeps its shape. I have sat on it a few times to kind of break it in and even then it hasn’t lost its firmness much at all. It’s comfortable for side and back sleepers (which is what I am). Not sure about other positions. I’m really hoping this pillow lasts a good long time and expect it to.

I ordered it through Prime and it arrived within the two day shipping window.The pillow ships in a handy zippered cloth and plastic storage bag, which is a nice ad-on feature to the product. The pillow itself is a great size, not too small and not too big – fits a standard size pillowcase. One side of the pillow is a quilted memory foam surface, and the other side is the cooling side, noted with the soothing blue color – it really is cool to the touch.After only a couple of nights’ use, I am really impressed with the cooling properties of this pillow! It really does make a difference in helping with a more comfortable nights sleep – also, the memory foam molds nicely to the position of my neck, which is very helpful.The cover of the pillow is zippered, so it can be taken off and thrown in the wash when necessary.Overall, a great product which will help me stay cool at night!

I recently bought this. Used it last night for first time and OMG, it’s SO COMFY! It’s supportive and doesn’t “give” like Tempur material. I am a hot sleeper. It was cooler than what I’m used to but I still got warm but I’d say it was 70% less. I recommend this to anyone who has neck issues and who is knowledgeable about their body and is researching for the perfect pillow. This is it. I’m not being paid to say this but I DO WISH they sent free pillows to those who praise them. Lol. Take it from me..it won’t be a regrettable purchase.

The cooling gel is better than most, but the memory foam is the densest I've ever felt. While it does somewhat form to you after a while, if you are an active sleeper, the second you shift you are greeted with foam a little softer than diamonds. I'm not sure if it's the gel topper that keeps the pillow from fully molding around your head, or the type of foam used but its very solid, or as the description says "pillow avoids "pushback" while providing excellent support"... the excellent support of a steel girder.I've tried it for a week and every night this pillow takes a midnight flight across the room.... the dog won't even sleep on it, and he sleeps on legos.If you like the solid, heavy, impenetrable type of memory foam that does well keeping you cool, then this may be perfect for you. For me this makes the pillow a no go, even with the decent cooling.

Helped my neck immensely, still are we supposed to place a pillow case for cooling effect? I placed a pillow protector on..AKA on toxic hypo allergenic, zip up. I would prefer a case with it that suits its use for a almoat $ 60 pillow? Otherwise it did work.Update : my bamboo Zen pillows are my go to and got 2 for price of this one. Realized it is overlriced and no longer benefits me what so ever.0;(
