I bought it because it said it can be used with flake food? well thank goodness I used it while I was home and not gone for a couple weeks, my fish would have starved to death! You can use it with flake food IF you crush up the food BEFORE you put it in the feeder! other wise it will clog the feeder and your fish will not get ANY food! the little feeder ring was a waste of time, the suction cup will NOT stick to glass at all.Now as to the feeder itself, I set it to feed the fish twice a day, at 7;00am and 7;00pm it works great! it go's on at each feeding time, just so happens I am always in the dining room at both feeding times, and I always hear it go on! and I see it turn. If you are buying this to go on vacation or out of town, please test it for several days before hand to see how your fish food works in it!

Hard to program, adjust, attach, fill, you name it. My main reason for picking this one is the feeding hoop it came with, but it doesn't work, either, at least for any fish bigger than one inch. Waste of money. Wish I'd gotten the Eheim (and so do my fish, who went hungry during the vacation I bought this for).
