This is probably the best pen I have ever used. No wonder why people say that you cannot go wrong with a LAMY. Although this is the first LAMY pen I own I probably will purchase another one soon from now. The fountain pen is fancy in its style and color. Its appearance is so elegant itself and there are many colors you can choose from.This pen is perfect for college students who are pursuing a style while wanting to use a fountain pen. You get all options from pearl white to neon green. The stylish LAMY logo and cap design really shines. The silver clip makes the pen looks professional at the same time. The hollowing on the side also shows you the ink level without diminishing its good looking.Many users do not like to use a fountain pen because of the thick nib. I did not like to use a fountain pen for the same reason. This LAMY pen has an extra fine nib and it has changed my notion of fountain pen. The pen is fun to write with and it is so smooth. I never found the nib to be scratchy during my usage of the pen. It is worth to note that this is a cartridge pen. I found it to be easy to use with disposable cartridges. Usually it takes more time and effort to clean pens with bottled ink and sometimes I make a mess with them.I have used the pen under all circumstances. I used it to write on all different kinds of papers and I have used the pen after leaving it in extremely cold weather. Very rarely it gets a little toothy when you write on less glossy papers. The pen is in a fair price and the refill cartridges can be easily purchased. You have the option of using a converter and bottled ink instead of disposable cartridges. It is a great option if you want to stick with bottled ink or there is one specific ink you prefer. All pens come with a blue cartridge. I like to use black ink thus I purchased black cartridges along with the pen.With the stylish design and the extra fine, smooth nib I honestly think that the LAMY pen is great product overall. I personally think that the price is acceptable and I will definitely consider another purchase.

I purchased this through Amazon and with Prime 2 day delivery I was a happy camper. I love this pen. The weight is really nice (17g). The white is a great color and the clip is very solid - I thought it would be flimsy but it is not. The contemporary styling is nice. I think I like the straight lines of the barrel versus the "torpedo" like curves like on a Pilot Metropolitan. And finally I think I'm a fan of the click on cap versus screw on. I'm a lefty and I was concerned about the grooves on the section for my finger but that was misplaced concern. Holding the pen is downright comfortable.I got the Z24 converter and of course that went in easy as pie. It took two twists to get the hang of filling the pen but the converter filled all the way to the top. I used Private Reserve Plum - what a wild color. And writing is a dream - smooth as silk with the steel medium nib. This "might" be a bit wider then I want but since it's my first fountain pen since high school (2,000 years ago) I'm not sure. I think I might order another Safari with a Fine nib to try it out - good excuse to get another. Still the writing is smooth as glass - I really, really like it. Another funny thing is that I leave this pen out on my desk with the cap off all day long and when I get ready to write it might not feed on the first half of the first letter but it picks up quickly. I don't know if that is the ink or the pen but I really like not having to recap it all the time.My vote is "Yea" for Lamy.

As far as a writing instrument go, this unit is excellent and does everything one would expect from a Fountain Pen. It even does as well as many that cost much more than this one does. I purchased a number of these for my office, home office and even gave some of these away as gifts. I have also invested in other Lamy Fountain Pen products and have not been disappointed. I would note that the company test these units with a blue ink before they leave the factory (product of Germany). In reviews, I often see individuals complain of receiving "used" Fountain Pens from Lamy. Hopefully, my research into "why their pens came with blue ink in them" will shed some light on the suggestions by some individuals who have written reviews that they are being shipped used Fountain Pens from the manufacture. Frankly, I am happy that my Lamy Fountain Pens are being Factory tested before I get them. I would prefer the factory test the units before they are shipped out to customers rather than it be left to me(as a customer to discover that there is an issue with my Lamy Fountain Pen that I am not equipped to deal with. Also, If anyone can suggest an American made Fountain Pen, that can provide similar performance, I would not hesitate to give it a try. Some users may not consider the Lamy Safari units as having the most aesthetically appealing exteriors( the colors are delightful and creative as well as the design is solid). In my experience, I have found that the Lamy Safari Fountain Pen (and other Lamy Styles ) are very functional and durable.The Safari Fountain Pens as well as other Lamy Pen designs that I have had experience with are simply extraordinary writing instruments. I use the fine points nibs, but this is a personal preference. One additional note in the way of a disclaimer. I paid for all of my Lamy Fountain Pens that I am making comments about and reviewing here. The color shown in the advertised picture is not correct - I was hoping for the mauve but instead this is a hot pink color. It is a high quality pen, writes beautifully, but just not the color I expected.

I own and use 3 Lamy fountain pens and find them to be the best quality over all the other brands of pen I've used. The ink cartridges have a higher capacity than other brands and are very reasonably priced.The only reason I gave this 4/5 is because I paid $15 extra for expedited delivery hoping to get it in time for a special gift-giving. Instead it arrived on the same date for Standard (free) shipping. :(

Lamy Safari superou minhas expectativas. Já tive uma Lamy no passado e atualmente me parece que a qualidade dos produtos estão ainda melhores. Difícil encontra-la na versão extra-fina, entretanto, se o interesse for em traços mais delicados e finos (evitando o bleeding) essa caneta atendeu todos os quesitos dentro dessa faixa de custo.

among the fountain lens I find Lamy has excellent control of writing and strokes and a fantastic nib. It is definitely a lot better than the much expensive waterman and shaeffer.

Though the nib is titled extra fine, it is not extra fine. In fact it is not even fine.
