Quality subpar, "Amish" and made in America claim, suspect
I ordered this soap because of the natural claims and natural ingredients and after getting it, I became suspicious of the "Amish" claim. Clearly many companies use the "Amish" claim, which would denote quality, while having nothing to do with the "Amish". Because of the clear lack of quality and debris in one of the bars, I became suspicious that this was yet another false claim of being made by "Amish".I buy Organic Pure Unrefined GHANA African Black soap, buy it in 10 lb blocks and getting debris in the soap is normal. They will even tell you why and what the debris are. There is no reason for anyone making soap in modern United States to have debris in the soap. Also, they claim to use " natural wildflower scent " , once you smell this, you can tell it's not natural. The scent is VERY strong, which is not the norm when using " natural wildflower scent " or any natural product for scent. It smells like dove soap.A quick look at the website and you'll see that there is no address for this company on their site. No address on the soap bag and no list of ingredients to substantiate their natural claims. A review on their website says it's an old farm with some metal buildings, but the address on their Facebook pages shows a warehouse that is for rent, next to a detailing shop. Where this soap is being made is a mystery and I doubt the made in America claim at this point. The original owner of the company does live on a a farm with a few metal buildings, but he's no longer the owner. The founder of the company is does not to appear to be Amish. He sold the company to unknown parties for an undisclosed amount of money. Where it's currently made or what it contains is unknown. The funny part is the Company's website links you to the Facebook page, their Facebook page links to a completely different Amish company.UPDATE: Turns out the soap is loaded with debris. I'm also convinced that a good portion of this soap is made from recycled soap. As I found unmixed white soap in the bar.I found an address for the company under a label. The address does not exist according to UPSP. Seems like a marketing ploy to make it seem like its made by Amish people. The owner of the company also owns a company that does recycling of goods, in fact he was sued for misusing recycled goods.STAY FAR , FAR AWAY FROM THIS SOAP.

Truly phenomenal soap!
I am absolutely delighted with this soap! It arrived quickly in a nice sturdy bag that is easily opened and easy to reseal. I was amazed by the size of the pieces! No, they aren't the perfect bar size or shape most people are accustomed to buying. I like that they are different. Each piece is a very generous size, however. The scent is very pleasant and mild, even to my guys. I waited to write my review until I had actually used it. The soap is wonderful! I'm glad it didn't suds like mainstream soaps because the stuff most manufacturers use to make sudsy soap, plus all of the other junk they put in are definitely not healthy. I looked at EWG's Skin Deep rating of this soap and it's a 1. Outstanding! I only buy natural/organic products for my home and skincare. Most of my family's products are made by me. I will definitely be buying more of this soap in the future. I'm also ordering some for friends to try. I have no reservations in recommending this soap. One last note: This, like most homemade soap, should not be left sitting in water. It needs to have air circulating so that it doesn't waste away. I hope you find this review helpful.

Not the same
We’ve purchased this soap before and love the huge bars. They smell good and last quite long. However, our most recent experience has not been as good. There are tiny metal shards embedded within the soap.

Surprisingly Wonderful!-READ UPDATE, SOAP IS CONTAMINATED WITH DEBRIS
***MAY 2017 UPDATE: I can no longer give this soap 5 stars. I've purchased more than one bag now that has had disgusting stuff littered in the bars. Pieces of plastic, wires, wood splinters, small balls of plastic or wax? The list is endless. Just tonight I found a lump of hair in my soap. Yes, you read that right-CLUMP OF HAIR IN MY SOAP BAR! A black clump of hair. Not mine. Doesn't belong to anyone in the family. Clearly embedded in the bar. The pictures other people have posted are true. There is zero quality control in this soap. I now believe there is no quality at all. I bought this because I wanted good, natural soap. If there are pieces of plastic and wire in my soap along with hair how can I possibly trust this is a good product? I can't. Looks like I am back to buying soap from individual makers on Etsy. Sure the bars cost an arm and a leg but at least I've never been washing my hands to find a clump of hair or plastic. Hork. :(When my regular soap seller closed their Etsy shop I started looking for new soap bars that were made of quality ingredients but didn't cost a fortune. So happy I bought these! The soap quality is excellent. Lathers beautifully, doesn't have a strong fragrance, and the bars are huge. Make no mistake about this soap-it's very clearly handmade. The bars come loose in the bag with crumbs and cut marks. No special wrapping. No fancy designs. Just big bars of great quality homemade soap. The ingredient list is short just like handmade soap should be. No funny ingredients thrown into the mix. Most surprising for me was how moisturizing this stuff is. Normally any soap leaves my skin a bit dry. Since I switched over to this soap I've noticed my skin feels better and I am using less hand lotion. I like it so much I think I might try this soap as shampoo. It's really that good. This brand isn't carried anywhere around me. I hope Amazon will continue to have it. I just love this soap!

Absolutely love it!!
I never write reviews although I read them when making a purchase. So, here is my contribution. This product is everything the others say it is. I love it. I have very sensitive skin and this does not irritate my skin. It rinses well and does not leave a residue. It lasts a very long time and so is a great value. The scent is clean and not overpowering. No more expensive body washes. I would highly recommend this product.

Buyer beware
Gave it a 2 because they're big and smell ok. I waited to do the review until I used every bar- hoping the next bar would be debris free. Nope!

Beware! You may get more than soap!
BEWARE! This company has nothing to do with Amish and has questionable ingredients. The owner has been sued by some big name companies like Campbell's and PepsiCo for buying their...

This stuff is heaven in a bar
I've now showed with this bar twice, and I have to tell you that it's wonderful. It reminds me of dove soap, but my skin is softer than when using a dove bar.

Love itn
I needed an all natural soap to use in my laundry, I found this one. It is also wonderful on the skin. It is the only one I use for laundry and body.
