Good piece of tech and great value
Having moved from an older 17" Macbook Pro to a MacBook Air, which doesn't have a CD/DVD drive, I looked on Amazon to see how much a portable DVD drive would cost. Looking at the Apple variant, I was looking at close to £100... then I noticed this drive with great reviews, and for a price of just £17. I thought perhaps it was too good to be true, so I ordered one to test and see. I have to say I am glad I did, and I am very impressed with it. It is small, compact, light and easy to use. It plugs into a usb port and works straight away without fuss. My only criticism would be that the cable is rather short, but for the price, that is a very negligable concern. I would reccomend this drive if you, like me, are using a modern laptop without a CD or DVD drive installed.

Very good value
It seems these days that a lot of new pc cases do not include the space for an optical drive. Im not sure why this is, maybe because the wise young sprites at tech companies dont think people still use physical media. Anyhow, after building my latest machine i realised that i cant live without a Cd/dvd drive. So i purchased this to help with saving files to dvd media and to rip audio cds. I was impressed that all i had to do was plug it in and it worked. no fiddling around with drivers. The recording speeds are great and the speed of ripping high definition audio was even better. I was actually impressed with its performance considering the low cost of the drive. The bonus is that i can use it with my macbook air as it does not require a separate power supply, so when im on the road, it gets packed with the laptop. All in all, this is worth the money. Its a low cost, high quality device and im extremely pleased i purchased it.As a tech person, i would recommend it heartily.

Small, bus-powered and useful
In the modern age of optical drive free PC builds, this Doovdee player/writer is a handy piece of equipment for those odd occasions when you realise you only have your Office suite on DVD or something similar. Under Windows 10 it's plug-and-play with nothing other than plugging it in required. it's even self-powered via the bus, so no more cables. The cable hides away in a recess on the underside, and the first few times can be a bit tricky to get out until you figure it out, and by necessity it's a little short, so will have to sit atop your case because it certainly isn't long enough to reach the ground with a midi-tower like mine. Laptops and all-in-ones will fare much better however, so don't let that put you off.

Good and easy
Works well and easy to get up and running. I have always had laptops with integral DVD drives before so this was a leap into the dark but I'm really glad now. Not only have I saved myself a lot of money but the laptop is much lighter. Easy to plug in and no problems at all with working it. The cable tucks neatly into the integral holder slot so it is safe to transport. The only slight issue is the cable being very short, which limits where you can have it, but a laptop tray works fine. A good bit of kit.

Only burned 7 discs before in broke down
This dvd burner stopped working for me about two weeks after I received it I had used it about seven times to burn a single dvds (seven discs in total) it stopped during the last burn and is now dead no power going to it the usb ports are working fine on my pc the moment I unpacked and used it I knew it wasn't as advertised as it would only burn at a speed of 2 instead of up to 16 I was disappointed with this but decided to keep burner as I was in need of one for work at that time but seven discs later I'm back needing to purchase another dvd burner feeling ripped off ps received an email address with the burner when I typed it into browser it returned no such address make of that what you want RIPPED OFF

Excellent External DVD Drive - Great Value
I am very pleased with the Rioddas external DVD drive. Delivered next day, the drive just worked! No work arounds as I read with other reviews. I connected to a USB 3.0 port on laptop running Windows 10, popped in a CD which played using Windows Media. The DVD drive is needed as my new laptop does not have an inbuilt DVD/CD drive (which is great as laptop is a lot slimmer), although CD/DVD are little used now I still need one. The Rioddas is small, not much bigger than a single CD box, with "built in" USB lead and a modern brushed aluminium look design. Impressed also with their service to ensure 100% satisfaction. Great value.

Impressed with this Portable External Disk Drive!
Simple, Fast, Easy. Plug the little thingy into your laptop, then a tiny box pops up asking which program you want to use to run this device with (purrsonally choose Windows Media Player). Push the button to open the Portable External Disk Drive, put the disk in, then close the disk drive and voilà~! CD's play automatically with zero issues and zero lag. No matter anyone else says... CD's are still the best, and since most new laptops do not have disk drives, this Portable External Disk Drive is a must! Own a few Computer Games which are on disks so, it will be nice to be able to play them again. No issues, fast delivery, purrfect condition. 5/5 Already recommended this to others!
