Yes it is dual voltage and can be used when traveling.

Q: How long after plugging in do you need to wait for it to be usable? Is it fast enough for quick touch ups in the morning before work?

You need only wait a minute or two. It is fast enough for touch ups too. Only downside for me was the weight: it’s a rather heavy appliance for arthritic hands.

Q: How do you iron the middle of a shirt without wrinkling?

We never would have ordered this so called iron if my wife hadn’t seen it featured on the today show. Turns out it was a lousy iron and was a waste of $100. My wife found several things like your question that frustrated her. She put it in the recycling bin.
