Sashco 11062 Sashco Sealants 6-Ounce White Mildew Free Sealant

I am writing this review a few years after I have used this product. Just to let all of you know, I always have mildew problems around the caulking joints in my bathroom despite using so called mildew proof or mildew resistant caulk from home depot. I tried this and while it is not perfect, I am surprised that it is indeed mildew proof. Not completely but in contrast to the other caulks, these hardly have any mildew growing in them. I was so surprised. It took a long time before any appeared and then only in small spots- easily cleaned with bleach. Up to now, still way better than those at home depot.

After three years this caulk which I used for my shower stall is still mold-free so I am buying more for the other shower/bathtub. The only problem I had was within a few months of applying it cracked (it's not a very flexible caulk). But I might not have let it cure long enough. I just applied more over the crack and it's been good for three years so far.

I'm not a handy person but this sealant was very easy to work with. As long as you do a good job with cleaning out the old sealant and removing all the mildew, then you should have no problem with new mildew growing on this stuff (at least that's Sashco's claim). This sealant is very liquidy and can be easily molded/guided to your liking. It doesn't dry quick so it will give you enough time to clean up and make it look nice, but it does dry quick enough to complete the job for water use (if that makes sense). The only thing I noticed is that I had to go over some spots twice because I noticed cracks in the sealant when it was dried up. I don't know if that was my fault or the sealant's, but either way this stuff works and looks great. I would say as long as you follow the directions you should have no problem at all.

Just what I needed. I needed to add more sealant around a toilet and this was perfect for that. Squeezed a little around the base, pushed it in with my finger and wiped away any excess. Easy and effective.

I have used this product in my shower and kitchen. Prior to using this product, I was using a regular "mildew-resistant" product from a big-name store. Sashco beats any product that I have used, by orders-of-magnitude.Does not have that smooth surface of other products. But that is not a deterrent for me.Has saved me tons on time. Keep in mind though, this product will still allow mold build-up on the surface if there is accumulation of soap scum....but, will clean-up easily though.Try it....you'll like it.

Bought for our bathroom project. Just started the project. ( 2 months after purchase ) we let this set for a week, after a few days of showering it is“ soft “ I bought 6 tubes and can not return now:(We started from scratch and had same problem.

Great stuff, it really works! I've had some there for 5 years and there's no mold! I'm not sure how some folks are saying it doesn't dry, mine is as tough as grout in 48hrs.

Very slow to set. If you do not get it cured it washes away. No mildew after a year but it pulled away from the plastic shower wall. I am using a small space heater to keep it warm and it set up in 3 days.
