The flexibility and sound in playing rose by using this bow. Didn't take long at all to get used to.
I have been playing the violin for 38 years. I only play for fun mostly with an occasional concert here and there. I have always played with the modern bow and most of the music I play is Baroque music. I have had more and more trouble playing these past few years. My bowing was growing much harder to keep up pace and I was getting frustrated. I heard about baroque bows and decided to give one a try. So I ordered this one. Yes it is shorter yes it is a little bit different. In short order though my playing level was back to what it was 15 years ago. I was moving through the notes without lag and with much better control. The sound is outstanding. I am sure there are better bows but for someone who plays with very nice modern bows this bow was good enough to match and even outdo in certain cases some of my modern bows. Beautiful too... My feedback may not fit everyone but for those of you who have similar issues as you are getting older this might be the answer you are looking for.

this is actually a really good bow for the price
Hey, this is actually a really good bow for the price! Well balanced, quick, responsive, good tone. I'm totally enjoying playing baroque favorites--Vivaldi, Bach, Pachelbel, etc with it, in a baroque manner.

Preference
I have two "baroque" bows. My snakewood bow and a fiber bow. I much prefer the snakewood bow because of the tone producedand the way it is balanced.

I am surprised how much I like this bow
I am surprised how much I like this bow. Nice tone and responsive. Totally familiar but different feel than my modern bows. It is teaching my hand some new tricks

good solid violin bow
This bow is for my daughter who was wanting to use an all wood bow. she likes the balance and it is a very nice, straight bow. the shipping container was fine and it arrived on time. The wood was of fine quality. If I were to fault the bow, it would be on the amount of hair.

It is a beautiful bow and the sound is good
It is a beautiful bow and the sound is good, BUT its length is shorter (about 26inches) than regular full size (29 inches) bow so little disappointed BUT will keep it.
