Libman Swivel Dust Mop

As a present, my husband gave the me gift of a one-time cleaning help. I was watching the lady while she cleaned my house, hoping to pick up any tips or tricks. And I did. I noticed that she didn't sweep my kitchen floors before she mopped them, yet they came out just as clean as when I sweep AND mop. With 5 small children and a dog that sheds, not sweeping never seemed like an option. (But a step I would happily eliminate, if possible!) I asked the woman about it and she shared the Libman Dust Mop with me. She said she uses it on all of the houses she cleans. It has the ability to sweep the crumbs and hair WHILE it mops. I was skeptical, but this mop really does do just that. It grabs all the little things on your floor, while you're mopping. I just gathered all the crumbs into one spot, and then cleaned them up with a rag.I was worried that the crumbs and dog hair would stick to the mop and just get redistributed throughout the floor, but that doesn't happen! They shake off easily, enabling you to use just one pad on your floor. You just learn how to sweep the crumbs into one spot as you mop.I was also worried that the pad would get too drenched as there is no "wringing" device. It was fine, though. I just needed to remember to be patient and let the extra water drip back into the bucket, before mopping.I LOVE this product. I highly recommend it. It stands up to one VERY messy floor every time: Five messy kids, one (always) shedding dog, and not a crumb to be found when I am through!

I am very disappointed in my new dust mop!! It is a lot smaller than I thought it would be. It maybe 12 inches in total length and I wouldn't call that a dust mop. It is probably my own fault cause I probably didn't read the description of the product I was buying.

I have hardwood floors and I needed something to get around the baseboards better than a microfiber. This does the job fine, but it was a lot smaller than I thought. It's around 12" wide. It needs to be at least 18".

Edit: took off a star for how it has aged. The zipper on the washable, removable cover was rusted shut so I had to cut it off to replace it. The swivel mechanism (with only light use really) keeps popping off from the handle.It is descent for the price (so 3 stars there) but if I could go back I wouldn't buy it again:-I don't care for the swivel mechanism. Sometimes when you lift the mop off of the floor the head points directly down causing it to hit the floor on the mop's edge edge. This can be pretty annoying when mopping or sweeping for a continual amount of time.-The fabric seems more suited to wet mopping than dry. Lets say I just made dinner and there are a few onion bits that fell on the floor, well, pull this out to sweep them up and the moisture will cause the mop to stick in place and all gliding ability is lost. At this point, a regular old broom would be better.-Same problem occurs when sweeping around the cat dishes/ water bowls. I'm trying to corral stray cat food bits but a tiny drop of water gets caught up and the mop starts sticking to the floor.Overall:ok for wet mopping, I like the small size (for apartment cleaning), but cheaply made swivel, and not too good for dry sweeping.

I bought the mop to clean dust bunnies off of my slate floor between vacuumings. It works great! I had no idea that I had so many tiny dust particles on my floors. The mop grabbed them and keep them on the mop head until I shook them out. I ended up using the mop on the walls, too. The swivel head made it a breeze. And, the mop came with a second head. I didn't expect that. So, take it from someone who cleans as a hobby (I love cleaning!), this is a terrific tool.

The quality of this dust mop is top notch. No more plastic cheap wal-mart dust mops for me! This one is a real jewel. It swivels and is a pleasure to use.

When I tried to use this the fabric mop would not stay on. The plastic part that holds the mop was all busted up so very used an old one very disappointed in this

I do like it. If I have a cat and it picks up the fur that is usually ALL over the house quite well. If you use it regularly it definitely facilitates the barefoot walking around the house. I only use it on my hardwood floors and have a different broom for the kitchen and bath. Other pros are it is quite small - maybe only 7 inches lengthwise - and the roller part very flexible so it can go in all the corners and under other furniture very easily.Now for the cons: it sticks a bit on my floors so I have to keep a very light touch or it'll flip over constantly- this is VERY annoying. The other con is the cleaning of it. I do not enjoy picking out the dust bunnies and because I am easily grossed out I have to wash it after 2-3 uses because otherwise its like I'm sweeping dirt over dirt on my floor. This does not work for me because if I don't have floor mats and other things to throw with it into the washing machine I have to do it by hand. I do not enjoy this.
