Tasty
This is my first time trying this brand of brown rice as I usually buy long grain organic variety at local supermarket. I enjoy the flavor of this rice and my kids like it because they prefer white rice and think it tastes more like white than brown rice. I'm having a hard time figuring out the water/time ratio for my pressure cooker. The first couple of times, the rice came out in porridge consistency using my usual brown rice formula. I switched to stove top cooking so I can control the timing better and keep experimenting. I'm sure I'll get it right by 8th pound.Update May 2020.I reordered this rice couple of times but this time it came in 1 pack of 4.4lbs instead of 2 packs of 4.4lbs that I received previously. I still think this rice is delicious but it just became much more expensive. As far as cooking directions, I find that using a wide shallow sauce pan on the stove top works best for me with 1 rice to 1.5 water ratio (i.e. 2 cups rice and 3 cups water). Bring to boil, turn down to simmer with total cooking time of 35 min. Rice comes fluffy but not too mushy and sticky.

Tasty and Healthy Short-Grain Sushi Rice.
This rice is the perfect short-grain glutinous rice to use when making sushi. It has a nutty and rich favor, and is sticky enough to hold together when used to make the various forms of Rolls, Maki, Sushi, etc. It is nice to have the option of using the far healthier brown rice with sushi. Tamanishiki, along with Tamaki, is the top brand of short grain glutinous rice available in the U.S. Both are grown in California and easily match the quality of short-grain Japanese grown rices.-------------UPDATE - this rice was so good that we consumed both packages in two weeks and I have now placed my second order. I use two cups of rice, and two cups of water minus two tablespoons, 2 tablespoons of Sake, some cut-up Kelp or Sea Weed, and place it in my rice maker on the GABA rice setting. When it is finished cooking, I fluff it up, and toss it with 4 Tablespoons of Rice Vinegar (unseasoned), one teaspoon of salt, and about one tablespoon of sugar which have first been dissolved together. This is actually the recipe for preparing Sushi Rice, but we prepare it this way and eat it with vegetables and Tofu. A yummy and healthy meal!

Consistently good
I have ordered this rice a few times. It is consistently good. I use my rice cooker to make GABA brown rice. Always perfect and delicious.

Mmmm, brown rice
Actually that is not what I said the first time I tasted brown rice. But, is the best brown rice I've ever had, it is probably half as chewy as other cheaper varieties. If you've never had brown rice before, it is CHEWY. You ever have steel-cut oats? Well, brown rice is chewier, even this premium brand. But that very quality is the strength of this whole grain, which is the extra fiber and vitamins not found in polished rice. What I do now is mix 1/3 brown, 2/3 white rice. That way you get the benefits of the brown and taste of the white rice. It lasts a long time that way as well.

Think P.F. Chang's brown rice.
Absolutely the best rice I have ever personally cooked, I do not have a rice cooker. To me it's as good as P.F. Chang's brown rice but is even better the next day, it increases the "chewy texture & nutty flavor." It's great with a little butter and cinnamon for breakfast.GLUTEN FREE French Toast Casserole I substituted the cooked rice for the bread, yes it still has carbs but they are better than bread starches, plus you have increased fiber content from the rice. Eggs, cream (or full fat coconut milk), vanilla extract, coconut extract, cinnamon, chopped pecans & day old cooked rice baked until "set" then ready for yum! Fresh fruit is a bonus.I deducted a star because of the cost, it is overpriced, in my opinion. Brown rice requires less "work/process's" to be "cooking ready." I purchased 3 bags when it went on sale. I will continue to look for 15lb bags to hopefully get a "bulk" rate, if not I will use it sparingly and only purchase when it's on sale. It is difficult to justify spending $30.00 for a 4lb bag of rice.

THE BEST!
I only buy this brand. It might be a bit more expensive, however, it cooks beautifully and is very tasty!!

Fine quality rice
Good rice. I've been using this rice instead of white rice. It takes some getting used to cooking this rice but once you find how it comes out perfect. It it a sticky rice so it lends itself well for Sushi. My family really likes the nutty flavor. This rice is very good quality. I recommend it to anyone trying to kick the white rice habit or just trying to eat healthier. This rice is one of those rare find, good taste that is good for you.
