This powder is AMAZING! I cook for my two pet kitties from scratch (yes, they're very spoiled) and since they don't eat any bones, they need a calcium supplement. I did quite a bit of research trying to find the best calcium powder I could to sprinkle into their chicken and this stuff is by far the best. Not only does it literally give you the biggest bang for your buck, it's one of the safest and healthiest forms of calcium to add to your pet's diet! Calcium carbonate ground from limestone is very safe and healthy for cats (according to some research that was conducted by a gentleman with a PHD in cat nutrition). It looks like from several other comments that it should be safe for almost any animal that needs a calcium supplement. It's also very good for us humans too!If you or your pet are looking for a safe and healthy calcium supplement that is very high quality, then look no further! Buy this now, you won't regret it! I am revising my review as seller has refunded me for the packaging issue and the product itself is great.I have ordered this product before in smaller quantities and it's been great. Unfortunately when ordering the larger size, the bag arrived ripped and even though it was enclosed in a plastic bag, I list half of it trying to remove and repackage.

I use this in my homemade toothpaste. I like the super fine consistency. It mixes well. No smell, no chalky flavor. Exactly as you'd expect!

There are several homemade chalk paint recipes and I have always used the Plaster of Paris recipe. I recently tried to mix up a batch with some "Oops" paint I bought and it was turning into thick, muddy sludge. I was in big trouble because I HAD to have this exact same color. Long story short, I found out my discount paint was not latex. (Insert smart people chemistry stuff here.) Well crap. I found several articles/tutorials for using acrylic craft paint with calcium carbonate so I gave this a shot. It mixed up perfectly and painted on with great coverage, although I do wish I had taken the suggestion of using a small blender because it was a bit gritty. Two coats was plenty.This particular packet is small and will get you about 2 cups of paint, but that's more than enough for even a larger furniture piece.

This stuff is some of the best lime you can buy. It is not cheap, but the stuff you get at the hardware store that is cheaper is rocky/sandy. This stuff is a fine powder. If you are using it for the kitchen or for a laboratory it is worth buying this high-quality stuff even if it costs more, since most of us only use a spoonful here and there it will last a long time! If you are using it for a garden you should buy cheaper hardware store types. I wish it was a bit cheaper, maybe I will get the bigger pack next time, but it is still worth it to get something food-safe that is lab grade. Since I am putting it into stuff I will be eating I don't want to get gardening lime so I like this product!
