As most people know, each hair root has an accompanying nerve … the reason pulling a hair is uncomfortable (painful). Epilators have a series of mating metal plates which form tweezers as they come together. So, a epilator having say forty ‘tweezers’ will have twenty pair of plates. The point, a large number of tweezers are rapidly spinning, grabbing one hair each and pulling it out. Yes, it is UNCOMFORTABLE! The positive? Each time a hair is pulled from the same follicle, the root-nerve connection is weakened and, therefore, less painful.After a few cycles, the pain is mostly gone. And, no, nothing really helps reduce the pain. Epilators should be used only when the area is in tension … loose skin can be entangled in the tweezers. And, yes, a wound will likely result (bleeding). Caution is in order when using near loose skin (testicles, labia, etc.). Some (most) epilators are designed in such way as to minimize skin being pulled into the tweezing action. Some epilators are better than others. Some are outright dangerous!I am a mechanical engineer and long-time epilator user. I have purchased most, if not all, in search of the safest (minimal skin engagement). I can confirm this epilator is THE SAFEST and least likely to engage skin. The designers placed skin rejection fins in the ideal location; hair is reliably removed and skin typically rejected. ALWAYS pull skin tight where using … ALWAYS!!! Pull skin as tight as possible, do small areas and let epilator float over skin — DO NOT PRESS. Hair sitting at skin level will be grabbed, pushing is unnecessary.I have searched hard for this epilator (20+ different brands). This is the best I have found yet! Please use caution, use ONLY ON TIGHT SKIN, never push, allow epilator to float over area. I strongly recommend applying alcohol to tweezers head (use caution), allow to dry prior to use. Serious skin infections can result from epilator use, sterilization is a MUST!!! I took the time to write this review to help those that care. Regardless amount paid (I’ve purchased the most costly, and least) this epilator checks all the boxes and delivers the best results … safest results. D

I purchased this because it was cordless and rechargeable and I was looking for a tool that I could just grab and use and not have to fuss with a cord - too bad it does such a poor job. Does not fully remove hair even those that are certainly long enough. Sadly I missed the return window and am stuck with a useless tool.

I've had this epilator for several years now and it is very durable and the battery life is great. The sliding switch isn't smooth, especially when trying to turn it off and it doesn't remove hair as efficiently as my previous epilator from another brand.

I've used the Epilady Discreet Plus for several years. I've actually purchased a second one after 10 years when my first one finally kicked the bucket. I had the second for as long. Anyway, I thought I'd check this. It has more tweezers but seems to be much less effective. It takes longer to finish one leg. So I decided to do both legs at the same time, one with each. So, Eh.... I wouldn't recommend it and won't send it because it's a hygiene product.

This was my first experience using an epilator, and it has been a game changer. I was a continuous everyday shaver, I hate body hair which is why waxing didn't work for me. Since I started using this epilator ive not picked up my razor, my legs have never felt so smooth! My only dislike was the the charge only lasted 1.5hrs before having to plug it in to charge for 15hrs. But this hasn't been a problem now that i m just maintaining which is super quick. First few uses took awhile for simply having to go over all the hair removing areas making sure I didn't miss anything. So yes it does miss some hairs but I believe that's normal no matter what brand of epilator u are using, and does it hurt? Yes but you get use to it fast, it's no different then waxing or tweezing. Definitely recommend !

I love this epilator. It is easy to use and works quite well. As with most epilators you have to go over a spot a few times, and this epilator works bette Ethan most. There were maybe 2-3 hairs left on my legs after a few times going over my leg. It is efficient nad easy to use.

I’ve been using an epilator for over 30 years and have replaced many units. This one stopped working after only a few months.
